American photographer Louise Dahl-Wolfe (November 19, 1895 – December 11, 1989) is best known for her work in fashion. She photographed many covers for Harpers Bazaar working for Diana Vreeland. She preferred to work outdoors, which was novel at the time. When she worked indoors, her husband, the sculptor Meyer Wolfe, often would create the background.
She had a role in discovering a young Lauren Bacall, placing her on the cover of Harpers Bazaar in March 1943. Dahl-Wolfe had a tremendous influence on the next generation of fashion photographers, including Irving Penn and Richard Avedon.
